This was a wedding we’d been waiting & waiting for – after shooting Amber & Jonathan’s funtastic engagement session last fall, we knew it was going to be a tee total blast, & they did not disappoint! There were several firsts for us – Amber wanted to do a Parent’s First Look, a switch from the usual bride/groom First Look; Jonathan had written a beautiful song for his bride, & he grabbed his guitar & gave a heartfelt performance during the ceremony; & then there was the Harlem Shake during the reception, during which the bride wore a Darth Vader mask & the groom a top hat….enjoy! A Paper Proposal? Why, Yes, Please & Thank You!

We are so pleased (ok, we’re a little giddy!) about having one of our weddings featured on A Paper Proposal’s pretty wedding blog today – if there’s one thing I love about as much as shooting a wedding, it’s reliving it by seeing the images again. Some girls just got it. Kortney is one of those. When I first saw her, with that long, fiery hair & those eyes…me & my camera were a little giddy This session was almost too easy, & Kortney rocked it so hard!

We did it. 365 consecutive days of one photo every. single. day. The only time Derrick missed was about a week after he had his retina detach so I’m not even considering a teeny bit that he didn’t ace this. It’s been challenging, fun, hard, boring, fulfilling, exciting, tiring, exhilirating…part of me is sooooo glad it’s over but there’s a tiny part of me that knows I’m going to miss it. And I know I’ll be catching myself searching for a suitable subject for the day for a long time to come. I want to thank all of you who have followed us & commented on our posts. If you enjoy photography, even a little bit, I’d highly recommend doing a P365. It changes the way you see things. So, for now, adios, amigo & amigas. Thanks for the memories!

Toooo-morrow! Tomorrow! I love ya! Tomorrow!” Last day, ladies & gents, just one more to go! Wow. How freaky is it, how fast a year goes by? Ok, my shot today features the goods we got at our return trip to the Walker Century Farms Market today. Let me go on the record, I went went strictly for the meat – Derrick Brooks is the weakling who caved on the goat milk fudge (however, he is not the weakling who ate over half the package.).

“So they loaded up the” Camry…ok, that was my little tribute to The Beverly Hillbillies, for you millennial babies who are thinking I’ve gone off the reservation Actually, we did load up my Camry today with myself, my mom. my big brother, & 2 of my grandkids, Soren (6) & Savana (almost 18 months) & headed out to the Walker Century Farms Market . Little did we know they are now on winter hours (Fri/Sat 2-5pm ) so we made the best of the ride by walking over to the pasture fence & seeing the goats & llamas (which Savana was totally not feelin’). The llama apparently recognized immediately that I am a professional photographer.

Wow, only 5 days left on our P365! And on this illustrious day I found this mesmerizing subject – bread. Lol. well, this is wheat-free bread made with coconut flour & though it looks a little rough (it was my first time cooking it, & I learned I need to cook the next one a little longer) it tastes more like cake than bread!

Ok, so maybe Derrick’s shot wins today….

Ever had the sharp, pointy end of a dog-tooth-honed sliver of a bone meet up forcibly with the end of your big toe? Lilo’s bones end up scattered all over the house, despite my efforts to keep them in a nice little pile on her bed.

Derrick started out his shot for today getting a pic of a cool little canister our potter friend, DeWitt Smith, made, but in the process he discovered the backdrop he was using (his work bench & tools) made for a cooler shot all on its own.

Ok, this was not my intended photo for today, but someone in this house insists on reformatting memory cards without asking if the images are needed (hmmm. who could that be?) so I had to find another subject at 9:50pm. And, I have to say, this is a much better subject So, thanks, honey. This is my maternal grandmother, Pauline Conner. I’m not sure how old she was here, but I think I remember my mom telling me she was maybe in her late 20s. It’s uncanny how much my younger sister, Cherie, and my aunt, Judy resemble her.

Boy vs ice cream sandwich. Not much of a battle.

My comment on Derrick’s photo for today would’ve been something like, “Derrick’s red hoodie.” But he gave me his own written caption so I guess I’d better use it; “Bulldogs won 12 games this year. All in all pretty good.” Now, I will insert one of the words voted Most Annoying of 2012 - Whatever.

What do you do when you’ve reached the end of the day & neither you nor your co-photographer (aka as “husband”) have gotten your shot for the day? You go to the grocery store! Lol. I was checking out all the gluten-free stuff & of course my eye was arrested by something chocolate (but I didn’t buy it!).

I think the only reason Derrick chose this is he liked the feet

Don’t know the name of this creek off Midway Road, but I noticed that it was nice & full after the recent rain we’ve had. How many childhood summer days did I spend playing in creeks like this?

The bridge support posts had this cool stuff growing on their tops.
